PacwestK9 Policies & Client Agreement
Welcome to PacwestK9. To ensure a safe, respectful, and effective experience for you and your dog, we ask all clients to review and agree to the following policies prior to receiving training or boarding services.
1. Locations
Private lessons are held at 1418 6th Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405.
Alternate public locations may be used depending on your dog’s training goals and exposure needs.
For boarding and board & train dogs, drop-offs and pick-ups must be arranged in advance.
2. Fees & Payment
All training services require a nonrefundable fee, due at the time of booking.
Additional charges may apply for extended stays, special care, food replacement, late pickups, or veterinary care. These must be paid at pickup.
Clients agree to pay in full for any additional services requested or required during their dog’s stay.
3. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled training session will be charged in full.
For package holders, missed appointments will count as a used session.
Deposits for board and train programs are nonrefundable.
Late arrivals may result in shortened sessions.
Failure to show up without notice will result in forfeiture of the session.
4. Dog Health & Vaccinations
Clients must certify that their dog is in good health, free of fleas or parasites, and has not been exposed to contagious diseases in the past 15 days.
Proof of current Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines is required.
Dogs showing signs of illness during their stay must be picked up immediately.
Clients must disclose any history of aggression, biting, or reactive behavior before services begin.
PacwestK9 is not responsible for the spread of contagious illnesses, though every precaution is taken.
In an emergency, PacwestK9 may seek veterinary care if the owner is unreachable. Clients agree to reimburse all associated costs.
Senior and chronically ill dogs may have elevated risk. Clients accept full responsibility for their care outcomes.
5. Services and Socialization
Training includes private instruction, behavior modification, and controlled socialization when appropriate.
All clients must follow the trainer’s instructions without modification and reinforce the training at home daily.
Dogs that are reactive will be kept separate.
PacwestK9 may use muzzles or other safety equipment when deemed necessary.
Clients understand the risks involved in allowing their dog to interact with other dogs and people.
6. Personal Property
PacwestK9 is not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings, including collars, leashes, toys, bedding, crates, or other items brought by the client.
7. Late Pickup & Extended Boarding
Dogs not picked up at the agreed-upon time may incur an additional fee or an overnight boarding charge.
Any changes to pickup arrangements must be communicated 24 hrs in advance or within reasonable time.
8. Right to Refuse Service
PacwestK9 reserves the right to refuse service to any client or dog at any time for reasons including safety concerns, health risks, policy violations, or behavioral incompatibility.
9. Release of Liability and Indemnification
Training and boarding take place in environments that may include people, dogs, equipment, and natural terrain.
Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless PacwestK9 and its staff for any injury, illness, damage, or legal claim resulting from their dog.
This includes harm to other dogs, people, property, or injury to the client’s dog.
PacwestK9 may terminate services if the dog is deemed dangerous, disruptive, or unmanageable. This agreement remains binding after service ends.
10. Photo and Media Release
PacwestK9 may photograph or record dogs during services for training documentation, education, or promotion.
Clients who do not wish for their dog to appear must submit a written opt-out request prior to services.
